Prayut Chan-o-cha, has assigned the Ministry of Commerce to turn the impact of the ongoing trade war between China and the United States into an opportunity for Thai exporters by exploring new markets. He has called on the private sector to further enhance workers’ skills to support trade along the country’s border.

Parliament president allows lengthy debate during tomorrow’s joint meeting

BANGKOK, 4 June 2019 (NNT) - A joint meeting of the House of Representatives and Senate is being held tomorrow to elect a prime minister. Senate Speaker Pornpet Wichitcholachai commented that senators have the privilege of voting for any candidate and debating on their qualifications while House Speaker Chuan Leekpai said all lawmakers are allowed to debate at great lengths on the candidates’ qualifications as well as procedures for the picking of the senators by the current premier.
