Transfer funds out of Thailand to U.K.

Recommended Posts

Yes, it's easy. Just do a SWIFT transfer. In theory, you can do this at any Bangkok Bank branch, but it's best to go to a big branch where the staff are used to dealing with tourists/foreigners, like the branch at Siam Paragon or another mall in Bangkok.

If you have Bangkok Bank internet banking, you can apply to set up an international transfer service - just fill out a form and supply the required documents. I set this up years ago and still use it regularly. It lets you initiate your own transfers from your Bangkok Bank account to the UK whenever you want.

I tried and failed to do this last year - they would not do it without an "invoice" but refused to elaborate any further. I ended up withdrawing as cash, changing at Vasu, and taking it on the plane.
