I dont really wanna go on a boring Cambodia visa run and Ive never been to Laos yet or Chiang Rai, so is there a border to Laos near Chaing Rai my wife and I could use just for like a day trip. We dont want to go into Burma, we know its cheaper but we have been there before, but we would like to have a look around in Laos. I am Aussie and my wife Thai, so how much would our Laos visas cost and any ideas or recomendations of where we could stay near a Laos border, Chaing Rai or Issan area, doesnt really mateer.
