booltrue Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Dear all, I am going to move from Germany to Thailand, but I am not really sure about what I can keep in Germany and what not. What I mean is: - keep my bank account in Germany - stay registered in Germany - pay voluntarily for the pension, if yes how much would be adequate ... Not sure if the topic is in the right category. If not, please admins move it.
BritManToo Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 My advice, move somewhere else, Thailand doesn't want white guys.

Make sure to avoid postal mail as good as possible and/or provide a cc address in Germany. 1 hour ago, booltrue said: - stay registered in Germany Not legal if you want to stay permanently. A guy living in Khon Kaen has "managed" (pretended) this for years (cashing in child support money while his kids stayed in Thailand, visited school here) until he finally got caught, de-registered by the office and having to pay back a substantial amount. Staying registered also means that you have to pay for the compulsory health insurance (if not privately insured). The health insurance is worthless here. 1 hour ago, booltrue said: - pay voluntarily for the pension, if yes how much would be adequate Don't know. Not sure whether you will get more substantial info on German legal matters here. Edited June 13, 2019 by KhunBENQ 1
