The new cabinet is expected to start functioning after the 34th ASEAN Summit, scheduled to take place in Bangkok from June 21st to 23rd, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam said today (Thursday).

The cabinet list has not yet been sent to the palace for endorsement by His Majesty the King, he said, adding that, if the list can be checked by the cabinet secretary-general Mr. Thirapong Wongsivavilas by next Tuesday, it could be submitted to the palace before the summit.

Nevertheless, Wissanu said he didn’t think the Prime Minister and his cabinet would have the time to take an oath, as constitutionally required, until after the summit.

"After the ASEAN summit" is a fairly open ended time scale...

They've started work already doling out the opportunities for under-the-table 'fees'.

Five hundred of the ‘new’ high-capacity feeders are on order (from China at only 275 million Baht each) and work can begin as soon as delivery and installation is complete….

Sigh.

Prayut still treats the constitution as only an inconvenience.

The "Good People" needn't be concerned.

But he doesn't hesitate using it against perceived political opposition.
