    The magic mantra for the moment is...maintenance....maintenance....and regularly before it breaks down, as that's what maintenance aims to avoid.

  • Sadly, he appears a lone voice against the selfish corporate interest of developers in Bangkok.

BKK gov needs to get this right and soon or the gleeming Mecca of wealth and sin that is BKK will come crashing down around their ears. The city is becoming more unlivable daily with all it's Western styled high end accoutrements. Nothing more than a playground for the rich and shameless. Of course, this will all be moot if the city is 10 meters under water.

Its too late for that. They've had years to correct the problem as exists in London and Holland but squandered the money.

Bangkok is sinking a few cm's every year.

Climate change is the boogeman.

If the monsoon rains ever return to Bangkok we're toast.

Can't help but think that building up banks of water under building (usually it seems built on sand) is asking for trouble

Attach blimps filled with Helium to every building in the great metropolis .. and remember use helium not hydrogen .. failing that pull the plug out and go and start again on higher ground .. 

Until they come to the realization that water will not run uphill they will not reach a suitable conclusion.

Many of the outlets into the sea when there is a full moon (high tide) are actually below the sea level,,,,,,..Think about it  Where the hell do you pump it ?

The Dutch have offered their expertise on many occasions but ????? we know best
