Liverpool FC and the club’s official training kit partner, AXA, have teamed up with The Athletic Association of Thailand and Move Asia Company Limited to launch a running event in Thailand this October.

The Kop Run Bangkok 2019, presented by AXA, will take place on October 6 and will see Reds legends, football fans and fitness enthusiasts take part in 5km and 10km runs at Thailand’s national ground, Supachalasai Stadium.

 

Former Liverpool and England goalkeeper David James headed to Central World complex in Bangkok on Wednesday to officially launch registration for the event.

 

“Liverpool FC have a fantastic fan base here in Thailand and we’re really excited to see Reds supporters and running enthusiasts come together for what will be a brilliant day, “ said James who played for the Reds from 1992-99.

 

“This is an incredible opportunity to run at Thailand’s national stadium and I’m sure the atmosphere will be amazing, as it always is when we visit here,” added the 48-year-old, who also showed his cooking skills for fans at the Melwood Canteen activity.

 

Sally O’Hara, Chief Executive Officer of Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance PCL and Country CEO of Thailand said: “The Kop Run brings to life in a tangible way our new “Know You Can” brand promise of self-belief to our customers.  This event will be an exciting experience for all participants, while also serving to reaffirm AXA’s commitment to empowering people to live a better life.”

 

 

Special activities, entertainment and competitions will take place throughout the day in the purpose-built Kop Village and Kop Town inside the stadium, with exclusive prizes up for grabs for the top three male and female runners from each distance category.

 

LFC’s official partners Chaokoh and NH Food will also be involved, running various activaties around the stadium during the event.

 

Registration for the Kop Run Bangkok 2019 is now open at https://www.runlah.com/events/koprun2019 and will close on September 10.
