Thai man shoots ex wife then self - three children orphaned

A farmer drove to his wife's shop in Tak in Thailand's north west in an attempt to reconcile after a failed relationship.

But the wife beater was turned down. He then drew a gun and a knife and threatened her.

She was shot and later died on the way to hospital. He turned the gun on himself and died at the scene.

Phopphra police led by Pol Capt Watthanan Jongpor went to a shop by the temple of Wat Huay Nam Nak where they found Anurak, 33, dressed in a Karen hill tribe costume.

He had been shot in the left side of the chest and was lying in a pool of blood. A gun and spent cartridge was next to the body along with a 12 inch knife sheath.

Nujaree, 32, had been still breathing after Anurak shot her. She was dead on arrival at hospital.

Nujaree's father Somchai, 62, said that he had been sleeping when he heard his daughter cry out that there was someone with a gun. She had just opened up the family shop.

He heard two shots ring out.

He said that the couple had split up just a month ago. Three children - one aged 8 and 5 year old twins - were now orphaned.

The police said that the shooter was a habitual drunkard and drug taker who beat up his wife in front of her father.

He had heard that his ex wife was getting a car and he turned up in a pick-up to ask to reconcile with her.

When the wife refused he produced a gun and a knife then the shooting began. Two shots were fired.

That is probably the exit wound after the bullet rattled away inside his empty skull for 10 minutes.

What an ar*h*le........pity the poor children now orphaned

Very sad about the childrens mother. Regarding the father, after this it can only be better.

Typical Thai man ego if I cant have it no one can.

Nasty git.

poor kids have no one now.

Total selfish git.

Alcohol, drugs and an inability to admit to being a failure as a husband & father.

Hope the kids get a better second chance with him gone.

What miserable POS this idiot was!  I hope the ex wife will finally have some peace....RIP

Hopefully someone responsible will raise the poor kids.

A pity she made such a poor choice for a husband and father. No accounting for taste, and it came back to bite her once she finally came to her senses.

It's hard to believe she wouldn't want to reconcile with him. He seemed like such a great guy. I think he wanted to get his hands on that car more than her. Sorry for her and the kids.

That will teach her a lesson! /s

Yea, smoking inside that home was a problem and needed to be banned.

At least he didn’t turn on the kids, though they have to live the rest of their lives without parents.

  Sad news.

I strongly recommend that Thai men shoot themselves first, (at least two bullets), then wife second if they haven't changed their mind. Hopefully the relatives can look after the children.
