He spent a few months publicising some arrests, seemingly always holding his press conferences at 2am for some bizarre reason, and got taken down for ruffling too many feathers in the unofficial finance chain. Totally predictable, as did many on this site. Sidelined, end of.

This is all good. He was a very destructive force. His racism and hatred of foreigners was not productive on any level and his crusades were about as fake and phony as they come. Get rid of him. Lock him up. Or take away his Thai passport and exile him to Dubai. He deserves the treatment he is getting and more.

I wonder if the 2am press conferences were because they knew the press would turn up, but there would be no competition with other press conferences at that hour?

It could just have been a well executed strategy, I don't know.

There will not be a civilian government as the junta-written constitution makes that impossible. Which is what has just happened after they finally decided who won the 'recent' election. Situation totally as it was before, and will be until there is a revolution. And Thais seem not to be in the mood for another one after the riots of 2010. The opposition has been beaten into submission.

It would seem that ranks like Lt/Col, and Maj/Gen in the police force really are just one big joke, and mean nothing at all. Just a lot of fancy nonsense that the posers involved pay a lot of money for.
