Thailand's tourist police reported that they stopped a Zambian man in the street near the end of On Nut Soi 25, Sukhumvit Road Soi 77.

Michael Phiri, 39, was casually carrying two cartons of Malee fruit juice in his right hand.

Inside the juice containers they found two bars of wrapped methamphetamine (ice) weighing a total of 515 grams.

The drugs were wrapped in black tape.

Back at his condo - Room 2/18 B1 208 at Lumpini Ville - the police found a further 15 small plastic bags containing 1.2 grams of the drug hidden in the ceiling of Mr Phiri's toilet.

He has been charged with possession of a Class 1 drug with intent to sell.

The Tourist Police Bureau handed him over to drugs' suppression police.

Ihope all other black people in Thailand really thank this guy for putting just another endlessly heavy sack of shit on your already tarnished reputation.

All Africans should be more comprehensively screened (especially those from Nigeria). In most cases they come to Thailand to pimp their drugs or to SCAM Thais or foreigners. Thailand doesn't need this problem !

Although catching these lowly pushers is a commendable effort,

why not go after the big fish for a change?

Or at least rid lower Sukhumvit of all these degenerates from "shithole countries".

I'd say deport him, but he'd be back next month

Some years ago when there were virtually no African visitors to Thailand A guy who I presumed was Nigerian by his accent approached me in Robinson's store in Sukhumvit. Hi man, hows it going? What are you doing in Thailand?

I thought that he was being friendly to another foreigner;

Then he said Do I want to buy some gold?

Oh! yeah! I laughed I bet you will ask me to give you the money and you meet me back here with the gold.

Now there are numerous pimps and Nigerian ladies on the street, mainly on the Muslim area of Sukhumvit.

Whilst in Beijing I was also approached by an African offering me drugs.

What! in China?

I often wonder if he actually had some and if he had got caught what his sentence would be?

A trip to a clinic maybe?

He will have some time to learn a new skill now and return as a lottery wining gold trading romancing prince at some stage ????

Look up chocolate city in China.  A lot of africans in China...

Ach, that was just African energy drinks.

why get hard with this news ?..... one down, 10'000 more waiting to take his place.

the problem will never be solved with a few busts here and there to look good in the news, sorry boys.

there are to many people on the top level, in many nations including in the west, who are gaining from drug trafficking...so no need to take out all one's spite on one miserable africain dealer on who anyhow nobody gives a damm...

...many "civilised" western nations have direct and indirect financial interests on the returns from drug trafficking, so the trade of death is not going to stop tomorrow no matter how many meaningless Africans, American, European,  Columbian, Pakistanese , Chinese or Thai, are arrested...

....and in the meantime, full respect goes to all those honest dedicated Law Enforcement Officers all around the world doing an ungrateful job in fighting drug trafficking...

Thailand has it's own resources of labour.

Might have been a lucky random check. If i were a cop and marked an African walking around an expensive district in cheap market clothes carrying boxes of tinned fruit I'd search him.

These African people have been doing their kind of business in these areas for very many years. Nothing really new.
