Tricky or clever? "Year 4" homework widely shared on social media

A man posted what he said was Year 4 homework on Facebook and Thais shared the questions 30,000 times.

You had to work out a list of sums using a calculator then figure out what the resulting answers said in English from the screen - sometimes the screen had to be turned upside down.

For example the number 200 would look like ZOO.

They then had to translate the word into Thai to complete the assignment.

Netizens praised the imagination of the home work setter for making it fun to learn.

But many thought it was a hard task.

Daily News said in reality the questions came from IPST - The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology.

After reading this, it's not hard to see why the education system is dysfunctional......If you read this upside down there is a hidden message, but you need to add 4 and then take away 7! ????

What about 58008. That was always the favorite at school.

Must be Thai maintenance calculator with that amount of tip-ex

I visited the 200 yesterday. It was 7734 owing to the 7108ing sun. My 5367s hurt so I took off my 53045s. I almost 7105ed myself when a 819 angry zookeeper approached me and rang a 7738 in my face, warning me that walking without 53045s was inappropriate.

Shame they don't teach kids the times table; it may then be possible for staff at shops to add 2x20 Baht without a calculator !

Easy.

At the corner shop here 2x20 is generally around 22 to 24.

When the batteries are flat that is.
