Police help toddler stricken with lymphedema

PATTAYA:--Najomtien police donated cash to a toddler suffering from “elephant leg”.

Pol. Maj. Sanwan Pansritaoan and Moo 1 village chief Supoj Inyam presented the mother of Thanakrit Kiejew 7,000 baht for treatment of his lymphedema, or swelling of his right leg.

Laddawan Unsiri, 30, said year-old “Nong Anfield” has had the condition since birth, reaching elephantine proportions at five months. He must receive constant medical care at Siriraj Hospital.

Surgery is planned, but she didn’t have the money to pay for it. The police donation will help, but more is needed.

Agree with Fred above.  We're seeing a number of stories aimed at boosting Pattaya Plod's dire reputation.  A lot of local businesses are hurting by the lack of Quality tourists; paying police protection money is another unnecessary expense.

Is not medical care free for Thai's?

Anfield sound like the father is not Thai... maybe a scouser?
