July 6, 20197 yr Hi, I have a quick question. Just been perusing some paperwork and noticed an issue with my daughter's birth certificate หนังสือรับรองการเกิด has my name on it สูติบัตร - does not have my name on it My partner and I have split, any idea if this will cause me problems re getting a UK passport? Not sure what is going on with the text!!
July 6, 20197 yr I assume one birth certificate is from the hospital and the other one is the official one done at an Amphoe. Just looked a scan of my daughter birth certificate from a Amphoe and it shows this which the one you say does not have your name on it. The one done at the Amphoe is the one that is needed to apply for your childs UK passport.
July 6, 20197 yr Author Thanks for the quick response. If I take them both (both docs) to the Amphoer will it be an easy process? Zero percent of my ex being present. I can take my daughter if that would help Edited July 6, 20197 yr by Alcapone13
July 6, 20197 yr I am certain your child's mother will have to be present to sort of the birth certificate problem. No sure how it will be done since they will not issue a new birth certificate but they should be able to amend the birth registry and give you printout of it. She will certainly have to be involved to give her consent for the passport application.

July 10, 20196 yr Author Hi Joe, managed to get the ex and my daughter (who is 10 years old) to the local amphoe. They say I need to get a DNA test from BKK! Is this legal or are they just been a pain for the sake of it. As I say my name is on the หนังสือรับรองการเกิด Do you know where I can find the Thai law pertaining to this? Thanks in advance

The Amphoe is apparently wanting the DNA test to prove you are really the father of your child. They have every legal right to request that. The other birth certificate from the hospital you have has no legal standing other than when first registering a birth that is used for info only. I not sure where you could find the specific law or regulation pertaining to it. Perhaps do a post about it on this forum specifically for such matters Family and children.

I thought it was enough if my daughter confirmed it as she is over 7 years old, along with the mother confirming it too. I read an old thread from Mario and he wrote on many occasions that that would be suffice. Is this new?
