I "selfishly" love Thailand

Title little misleading so let me explain.

2 Decades i have lived in this country and there is very little  that can get me going, but one aspect without a fail always gets me going and that is selfishness on the roads, especially parking.

People just park where ever they feel like it

-On the corner of already tiny soi, so a car could not possibly turn into soi, without having to do forward/reverse a few times.

-Just double park outside a shop or wherever in a tiny soi, ie blocking the entire street

- Across your house driveway

Now with double parking, there usually a space to park 20-50 meters, down, sometimes right there, but NO, they just double park to make it easier for them and screw everyone else.

When you tell them off, all you get is idiotic smile back and they will move, yet do not comprehend what they had done.

When unloading, at 7-11 or any other shop, the very same thing, truck would block the entire road, create massive road jam and as if its perfectly normal. They  could park the truck few meters down , but that means having to carry some stock extra few meters, so wiser decision is to block the street, affect everyone else, so they do not need to walk extra few meters.

And i have grown to accept that already, but before it turns into Thai slagging fest, here comes the punchline.

Foreigners are doing the very same crap. Fine, Thai are selfish and know no better, but what the <deleted> is wrong with foreigners doing the very same thing?

At least with a Thai, when you tell them off, you get a retarded smile and a sorry, BUT with a foreigner, oh <deleted> no, he/she starts to argue that they have not done anything wrong and if anything i am the one in the wrong who should wait patiently until they finish their business.

Perfect example, just the other day, get home and have a car parked right across my driveway, actually in the driveway. Old scrag is visiting tailor. Instead of saying sorry and rushing over, she tells me to wait until she finishes her business and to put a cherry on top, have parking space literally 2 meters down, but that means she had to move her fat ass extra 2 meters.

Nothing wrong with "when in Rome" but it does not mean you have to be more Thaier than Thai or its a competition who can be more selfish or out do eah other at stupidity.

Again, not a Thai bashing post, as something just can not be explained or taught, but more aimed at foreigners doing the very same thing, being well aware this is something you do not and should not do

Really "Again, not a Thai bashing post"? And regards your subtle vindication of 2 decades- I have been in country for 4 decades and accept it as I would in any other city in the world that all suffer from the same dereliction. All I can say is พักผ่อนหย่อนใจ

Really all suffer from the same? how is that? and how would you know when you have been in this country for 4 decades?

In Oz as an example when you park on the corner, you would get a nice penalty of at least $100, if you double park you would most likely get another $100 and they not shy to issue 10 a day if one does not learn from earlier in a day

I do find it rather annoying when they park their motorbike right out side a shop doorway entrance  , so that no one else can either get in or out the shop .

and yet plenty of spaces to the left or right ???? but than means having to walk extra meter
