Getting a visa at Savannakhet

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a total of 2 Thai toured visas in my passport, 1 from this year (from Vientiane) and two land entry visa excempts... I just read a that Vientiane has clamped down and only giving one visa per year. So will I be able to get a tourist visa at souvannakhet? Or will they deny me since I already have one tourist visa for the year?

Thanks ????

I have seen nothing stating that Vientiane will only do one tourist visa per year.

No problem to get a single entry tourist visa in Savannakhet. You will need to show at least the equivalent of 20k baht in a bank to apply.

With only one visa in your passport you shouldn’t have a problem getting a new SETV from Vientiane or Savannahket.

There has been no official announcement about a one visa/year limit at Vientiane.

And there won't be any, even if it's true.

Just like for the last 10 years, Penang enforced the 3 tourist visa from them rule. I don't remember any official announcement.

Remember to avoid applying on Monday and Thursday mornings as on these days the tour agencies do they their group visa runs.
