The poll and its choices are kind of loaded. It has medicinal properties, thats a proven fact and most people probably do just want to 'get high' and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Alcoho

Medicine or high?  There really should be a Both option.

If governments allow tobacco companies to stuff additive chemicals in cigarettes why should they worry about the effects of marijuana on health results.

Wine can make you fat, what will it be....red or white?

The real brainfart is drugs that have less side effects and cause little dependency are illegal, while alcohol can be bought freely. It just doesn't make sense, put the bar somewhere and allow anything under it. Yes likely includes ecstacy too. Maybe even heroin, if we're being honest and stuff the PC crap where the sun don't shine.

I agree, but comparing with alcohol is the wrong approach. Probably if alcohol would be invented today, I guess it wouldn’t be legalised at all. Of course I support the use of cannabis oil as a medicine. And indeed, as you suggest, maybe heroin if it can comfort dying people.
I just don’t feel comfortable that people outside their homes are under influence of whatever drug and become a potential danger to others. I imagine that smoking pot and driving is not the best idea. If this makes me a dinosaur so be it and educate me.

It's ok to be a dinosaur, no worries. The thing is people will find a way to get wasted no matter what, the prohibition was a good example of that. So the drunks, stoners and other assorted meth heads will walk among us anyway. "War on drugs" does nothing but benefits the narcos.

Of course the real question is why do people want to get out of their heads with drugs. Some research in drug addiction of rats (can't remember where I saw it) mentioned it was because there was basically nothing else to do. Add other stimulants like interesting hobbies and they wouldn't bother with the drugs. Logically, here in Thailand that means just one thing: pass the bong, will ya.

Since when does the cure have to make you feel like shiit? Talk about phukked up.

Feeling like shit is also part of the cure. Cannabis has a tendency to bring up to the surface anything you have suppressed.

That being said, as with any medicines there's always some people who will have adverse reactions.

A bunch of potheads mostly with fake reasons to get high.

Big mistake loaded high drivers just adding to the carnage here.

If you are someone who is for this do not complain when they crash into you or God forbid, a family member.

It is a big problem now in the US especially California high drivers getting into major accidents.

Very stupid to even think about allowing weed here.

I think we should not punish everyone because some people will break the law and drive under the influence.

In my humble opinion, getting high should be legal (it's my body, it's my human right, in my opinion,to explore my consciousness, as long as I am not harming others).

Driving under the influence should be illegal.

Did you read the entire paper that this came from or even the abstract?

Proper assessment of the harms caused by the misuse of drugs can inform policy makers in health, policing, and social care. We aimed to apply multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) modelling to a range of drug harms in the UK. Method Members of the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, including two invited specialists, met in a 1-day interactive workshop to score 20 drugs on 16 criteria: nine related to the harms that a drug produces in the individual and seven to the harms to others. Drugs were scored out of 100 points, and the criteria were weighted to indicate their relative importance. Findings MCDA modelling showed that heroin, crack cocaine, and metamfetamine were the most harmful drugs to individuals (part scores 34, 37, and 32, respectively), whereas alcohol, heroin, and crack cocaine were the most harmful to others (46, 21, and 17, respectively). Overall, alcohol was the most harmful drug (overall harm score 72), with heroin (55) and crack cocaine (54) in second and third places. Interpretation These findings lend support to previous work assessing drug harms, and show how the improved scoring and weighting approach of MCDA increases the differentiation between the most and least harmful drugs. However, the findings correlate poorly with present UK drug classification, which is not based simply on considerations of harm.

The survey is about use of Medicinal cannabis (CBD)

Do you have any idea of how many persons take to the road under the influence of prescribed medications, including valium ( in its many forms) benzos and especially opiate based medications which impair their driving abilities ?

And why would you expose your brain to marijuana long term if it's not really necessary , the effects long term is not a healthy one.

I give up, how many?

And how is driving loaded on one thing make it okay to be driving loaded on something else?

To be honest nothing really is healthy in the long term. It's a tradeoff between hedonism and longevity. In the Roman times somebody who reached 40y was an ancient one. Must've been brilliant orgies.

If you want less drug users out on the streets then you should want decriminalisation of all drugs like in Portugal. Because drug use went down as a result.

Did not suggest it was ok, but they do not test for those drugs in most jurisdictions,

Seems that the fact you do not get “high” on CBD oil is not being taken into account

You seemed t be using it as an excuse for people driving while loaded on grass.

I thought you had data you were going to give us about how many people were driving on opiates, what happened?

Are people being arrested for driving while loaded on CBD oil?

Is CBD oil what they use as a defense when they test dirty for grass?
