GENEVA (Reuters) - Iran is ready for “just” negotiations but not if they mean surrender, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday, without saying what talks he had in mind.

Missing Canada teens now suspects in murder of tourists

(Reuters) - Two teenagers, first categorized as missing in Canada, are now suspects in the murder of an Australian tourist, his American girlfriend and an unidentified man whose body was found near the teens’ abandoned, flaming car, police said on Tuesday.

Security forces launch hunt for insurgents who killed four at checkpoint

Fourth Army Region commander Lt-General Pornsak Poolsawat on Wednesday said he had ordered the “Jorayuth 118 Moobaan” teams to conduct extensive search operations in the Muang district of Pattani province to apprehend those involved in the gun attack on a security checkpoint that left an Army officer and three civilian volunteers dead.

Economic boost of up to Bt100 bn tipped from stimulus

Education Ministry urged to see whole picture, instead of tackling problems on a case-by-case basis

Thailand’s education sector is like a mountain and the only way it can be reformed is if problems are solved after taking an overview instead of just handling issues when they arise, a former chairperson of the Independent Committee for Education Reform (ICER) said, as he called on the new government and the education minister to adopt this idea.
