As you know Gilroy has a strong Hispanic population mixed with some illegal workers. The shooter appears to have come for a middle class background based on the press.  I am just wondering if the rhetoric of racism, have and have not, prejudice mixed into this.  As you know Gilroy is noted more for Agriculture and artichokes.  However, due to the affordable housing in Gilroy compared to the  Hy 101 up the peninsula, I wonder how much of the SV types live in the Gilroy area.    Generally, the news in that area is the Fresno communities and gang related violence.

I did not like the Garlic Ice Cream.   However the Mexican food was great.

Yeah the garlic ice cream is largely a gimmick for publicity.

The most amazing thing I had there was some kind of Italian style beef. 

They had these huge cuts of beef rotating on a grill which they were constantly beating with massive bunches of fresh herbs. Kind of like Russian massage style. 

I guess they'll keep doing the festival but with added security.

If the terrorist had been much more "successful" by his standards that might be different.
