Farrang Arrested In Hua Hin

A local Farrang (Cha Am) has been arrested in Hua Hin for working illegaly. He was kept under lock and key all weekend and was in court today.

The farrang has been living and working in Thailand for 6 years without a Visa but on a 30 day (yes for 6 years).

Absolutely no documentation (company papers, Visa, work permit) for the 6 years and worked continuously, therefore has paid nothing in Tax.

Rumour has it he will be deported never to return to Thailand.

The Police are said to be considering confiscating his car

Any comments???

Yeah,

Like a penalty kick with no goalie. Apparently very easy to get complacent after spending a few years in the LOS thinking that immi pol will never find out...

This only destroys the playing field for most people who try and play by the rules ( yes , they're not alwys that friendly and all that - but we're still only guests here and we do have to abide by them in order to stay safely here...)

Difficult to judge without further details. I have been offered to work 'cash-in-hand' here, too, but decided against it, I intend to stay in Thailand for a long time...

It is easy to fall for it when the money runs out, and I reckon there will be a surge in this kind of activity after the new minimum wage requirements for farangs.

And there is the grey area of English teachers as well...

The only time I have been offered "cash in hand" was to escort who*res to Sydney.

I never took up the offers.

I always thought that I might want to take a legit girl (to Oz) and that had I accepted the offers it would have established me as having a "history" which would have resulted in the legit girls visa application being declined.

Still I might even have gotten some extra pussy enroute. mile high and the like

To answer a few Q's

Q/ how did he get nicked.?? word on the street he was shopped by a farrang.

Q/ what business,?? had a mini bus and car for taxi. he had a Thai driver, but couldn't do visa runs and a/port pick ups at the same time?? he worked on Thai rates and didn't make a fortune, beleive me.

Surprised no ones asked, who now takes care of his Mrs and 3yr old daughter?? not the people who deported him thats for sure. Or the nice guy who shopped him??

just a thought??

The 'husband' can not be that bothered if he spent six years breaking the law. Had plenty of time to think about it?

I personally knew the Guy in question. I'm not going to go into details, especially on this branch!

To you, cutegirl......The only thing that you are aware of, is that the farrang was working ilegally, not unlike the thousands of teachers in Thailand.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

There appears to be a lot of the " Almightier than thou's " on this forum, never overstayed by one day?

Tony.

PS. Dr Patpong. It's not a question of will, has, is more the scenario.

But people do have the choice to stay here legally!

There are no grounds for complaint for people who don't.

Unlucky for the guy but everyone knows it's not worth the risk now.

Good luck to the guy and his family. :o

Some of us actually hold the appropriate visa and work permit.

I agree with cutegirl, in hindsight I bet he wish's he took the time to get the correct papers.

Loads of Farang are here who have not the correct papers, this guy obviously has not paid tax to the government and has stopped a couple of Thais from being able to support there familie's.

I actually know the guy in question, I have used him but would not again. He has not only upset the Expats of Cha Am and Hua Hin but also the tourists, he has had many complaints and is true to say the majority of Expats keep a wide birth as he is trouble on legs. I for one am not sad to see the back of him.

Although I do sympathise for his live in (not married) and Child, he is a fool to himself, if he thought anything about them then he would of obtained the correct papers, like myself and other farrang that live and work here.

He may think he has been bucking the system for 5/6 years therefore putting other Thais out of work, but it shows the system works.

He was actually caught in Hua Hin with a roar and applause from the local Taxi drivers.

The tourist that was his passenger lost his 1500 baht for the trip he was on, the police told him that if the Taxi was legal he would not of had a problem. He flew back 2 days later after abuse and threats from Stuart who accused him of setting him up.

Loss I do not think so, people like this give the rest of us a bad name. Yes he has himself to blame, rumour has it he may come back under an assumed name, plonker, the people he has upset will put a stop to that thats for sure.

LIVE HERE LEGALLY AND ENJOY, WE ARE GUESTS HERE.

66fergy stated that he was "dobbed" in by a Farrang. I was told that the Police were watching him for approx 3 months. The Police do not just work on a single complaint. They obviously had quite a bit of intel as this is a serious sentence.

Many complaints I believe.

66fergy I wil gladly send you the address of the Swedish guy that lost his money and perhaps you can reconpence him????

66ferdy Do not judge? Lost the Plot Bar, where is this and who is judging now.

I do not go to Cha Am often but stay in Hua Hin so I am at a loss to this responce.

If you do not go out then you will not meet anyone let alone the people that post here, why come to Thailand if you stay in your room. Please dont tell me you are one of those old farts with a BG?

Oh come on, this guy overstayed his visa by 6 years does he really deserve sympathy. The rules are clear and the ramifications for breaking them are well documented.

Personally I ensure I NEVER overstay my visa.

I have probably been to more places than you, and no BG, old fart yes age wise the guys drinking Chang at 10am have though.

I don't advocate law breaking anywhere, I didn't know his status, none of my business. I do know lots of long stayers here shitting themselves when the Dodgy Saadoa stamps appeared, never done a visa run in years, which of course is illegal. many of the "experts" on here were guilty of that, thats what pisses me off about you lot with your "goody two shoes" attitudes. I know lots of people who thought Ranong was near Pattaya., and Penang was a type of curry.

I can see your point about 'some' of the posters that you may have had cause to make you think that way but i am not one of them!!! and you 'holier than thou' was directed at people that had replied to this post not past tense:-)

Cutethaigirl beat me to it.

As to overstaying your visa I for one am sick to death of people coming on here complaining that they or their " friends " have overstayed not by the odd day or so but months did it slip their minds?

Cutethaigirl?? I know it is, I eat it quite often, very tasty too :o

There are people here, had their passports sent out for over 10 yrs never left the place?? and some posters on here?? I have never, nor would I overstay 1day, but then I do not have to leave, just register every 90 days. I know the rules and abide by them, I just feel sorry for the guy, especialy being set up by a farang. I KNOW!! his Mrs told me?? sure he broke the rules, has did all those who never did a visa run in person, but they are still here!! sitting in judgement of others.

If you feel anything was pointed at you personally, I appologise.

Right...kinda like, oops, I forgot to file my Federal Tax (US) on April 15th. Unfortunately, there's certain responsibilities we all have in life and it's got nothing to do with "goody two-shoes" type of attitude. :o
