I have a friend that worked for years with a work permit and the proper business Visa paid into Social Security his company did rather. He has not been working for about a year so he knows he's in eligible to collect the medical cuz he waited too long. How about the money he put into the fund is that still available to him I would think it would be but then again somebody here may know for sure many thanks

Best tell your friend to go to his local SS office where he lives and ask - they all seem very helpfull.

he will do just that I thought someone here may have been through this before themselves and could comment on how it was for them. 

The money paid in should be payable to him as a lump sum. It won't be much though. I've paid in since the scheme started and I am still not yet up to Baht 200k. 

After paid at least 180months in the system and be at least 55 years old you can either get a lump sum (about 10k/year) or a life long monthly old age pension based on salary, years of contributions  and is caped........
