Tourism Tourism Shock: Thailand's Visitor Numbers See Alarming Plunge
Just yesterday I was reading the minutes and the press conference slides from the last Thai central bank meeting on interest rates. On one of the slides, there was a graph on the number of Chinese tourist arrivals in Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan (for memory). Since the beginning of this year, Chinese tourist arrivals are sharply down in Thailand, but up in the other three countries. Clearly, Chinese tourists are still going overseas, but Thailand has lost its attraction. -

Renewal of USA passport by mail in Thailand (current details of the process once begun)
I've only had to renew mine once from Thailand. I used this outfit: https://thaivisa-express.com/ They caught a mistake made by the idiots at the photo shop - I had told them I needed US-sized photos, they gave me UK, and to the untrained eye they look very similar. That alone saved my months of wondering where in the world (literally) my passport was. They appear to do UK passports according to their website but they do US as well, maybe other countries. And the gals at the desk are very easy on the eyes. WELL worth the price. -
