Popular Post Blue5
Hey everybody, I’ve been here in Pattaya for about 7+ months now and I am still struggling to make some friends. I did have one friend from home in the U.K. that was a teacher but she’s returned back to England now. My boyfriend works here in Pattaya and although I do sometimes hang out with his friends I’m getting pretty bored of the whole bar scene. I’m not a big drinker and I don’t really like seeing the men all over the bar girls etc. (I’m fully aware that is considered the norm here). I don’t work but I have been attending Thai classes where they are mostly middle aged men. I’ve noticed there aren’t many people my age or at least anyone I can relate to near me in Jomtien or if there are, I just can’t find them! I’m late 20’s and though age is actually no big deal, I would just like some female friends I could hang out with! Grab a coffee with etc. Maybe with a background similar to mine? I do have a few Thai friends but they work a lot or live a bit far away so don’t see them much. I started off as a backpacker travelling NZ & south east Asia before meeting my boyfriend and moving to Pattaya with him for his job. If anyone is thinking anything similar or wants a new friend please let me know!! Cheers for reading my long message!!
Leaver
There are not a lot of expat women in Pattaya, but perhaps you could try joining a few expat women forums in Bangkok. Some of them might come to Pattaya for the weekend every now and then, and you can catch up. Likewise, you might go to Bangkok to catch up with them sometimes. Not that Pattaya gets many female travelers, but you could also join some travel websites, even backpacker websites, and say you are based in Pattaya and if anyone is passing through you are happy to meet up and maybe pass on some local knowledge. champers
If you are sporty, you could join a club to play tennis or badminton. Fairtex have a couple of places. Golf would be another option; plenty of bars with golf clubs attached.

Spaniel
Try stopping by the Tamar Bakery and Restaurant, Tel 081 4373202. I eat lunch there occasionally and I always see young female expats in the shop. I think they are volunteers working on assorted projects. They are located on Third Road near the intersection with Pattaya South road.

d2g
The Pattaya City Expats club meets on Sunday morning at the Holiday Inn, Beach rd. Its mostly an older group but a possibility. I understand that there is a Rayong group of the PILC that has a younger membership.
