BANGKOK (NNT) - According to the Government Spokesperson, the Prime Minister is preparing to discuss various topics with the visiting South Korean President, including economic cooperation.

Government Spokesperson Narumon Pinyosinwat, said today that the topics to be tabled during the meeting between Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and President Moon Jae-in of South Korea, include bilateral and multilateral cooperation, along with the promotion of ASEAN-South Korean relations.

She said President Moon will introduce the New Southern Policy (NSP) while the Thai premier will emphasize the implementation of the Thailand 4.0 economic model. The NSP underlines the "3Ps community," which stands for a community of People, Prosperity and Peace.

The 3-day visit to Thailand from September 1st - 3rd, by the South Koren President, the first in the seven years since his inauguration, is expected to tighten bonds between the two nations. The two sides are expected to sign a total of six bilateral and multilateral agreements. Representatives of more than 100 Korean companies are reportedly accompanying President Moon on the visit.

President Moon and his spouse Kim Jung-sook are scheduled to meet the Thai Prime Minister on September 2nd at Government House.

The amount of trade discussions held by the Prime Minister with foreign nations since 2014 beggars belief. If trade success was measured by the number of meetings then Thailand would be one of the most economically advanced countries in the world.

When he first appointed himself as PM one of the first things he did was to visit middle eastern countries and most tinpot dictatorships in Africa trying to drum up trade. Of course nothing was ever mentioned of any success. The same always applies with anyone he has trade negotiations with.

Success with anything is not one of his trademarks.

Thought they were meeting at Intercontinental...

I feel so sorry for the south Korean president trying to discuss anything with Prayut yet alone economics.

The reason why the SK President is here is because Thailand is the ASEAN chair and the discussion is for the meeting between ASEAN and SK in Busan next year. The President didn't come because of him.
