A video posted to the Pattaya Update News site showed part of a dramatic police chase and arrest in downtown Pattaya last night.

A Honda Civic had raced away from a police checkpoint outside Makro in South Pattaya.

Many police from the Pattaya station joined in the chase that proceeded down Sukhumvit Soi 48 and ended at a Mor Lam (Thai country singing) event taking place in the Sai 3 area.

Shots were fired throughout the chase and the car had punctured tires in the front and rear. The media said the car was riddled with bullets.

Inside the car was 35 year old driver Isara Phrajan and passenger Nipaporn Buakaew, 34.

A quantity of ketamine was found in the car. A discarded package believed to have been thrown from the vehicle was found on the route of the chase.

It was not reported what was in the package.

The suspects were taken in for questioning after the incident around 11.30 pm last night.

Our village road is so quiet we don't even have the excitement of dogs chasing. Beat that!

They asked Win to hold on to the girl? There really is a lot of trust between Wins and RTP...

Your village has a road?

Luxury!

Silly Rookie, any experienced drug dealer would have gave the stash to his girlfriend to stick up where the sun don't shine.

You  could  go  out and  shoot at  them  on the  motosy to  liven  the  place  up?

I hope the Pattaya bridge players were not involved. I think the noise of the sirens was the most intimidating once all had stopped driving.

who do you think were firing the shots?

They love noise !! Didn't ever turn off the siren !  Hope the tourists enjoyed the excitement and shooting in populated area.

It's a Honda City, not Civic ????

Can't tell if driver was high, but he sure was pixelated! Why do they bother to do this? In the land of crime reenactments before trial?

And who was that guy at the stop in jeans and white shirt waving a gun about? Bystander who just wanted to "help out"?

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll repeat it often,

This country is slowly turning into America.  Not in a good way.

Drugs are out of control and virtually unstoppable.  People are committing violent road rage more often.  The U.S installed  the current biometric system in the airport.  The U.S Embassy is linked to Thai immigration, they can see every trip in/out of Thailand.

I am not pro-America, not anti-America. Not pro-Thai, not anti-Thai.  Just stating my observations while living here 20 years.

I love everybody and God bless you all!

You have a village ?

Must be nice to be so HiSo ! ????

This type of event doesn't happen often here as most of you know. For me, it was nice to see that the cops actually chased and caught the perps.

In some places they would have called off the chase and let them get away "in the interests of public safety" because they are more worried about civil lawsuits than catching crooks.

Would be nice if the reporters ever did a follow-up story once in awhile so we'd learn the whole story (or more of it at least).

One would have thought this was a police chase in America. That is basically what happens when you flee the police there. I have driven away from the police here, and none have ever bothered to follow me, much less shoot at me. Over a trivial amount of drugs? Really? Have these guys been watching too many movies? Or have they been watching the news about American cops, and wanted to emulate their aggression?

To Hell with them; what about innocent Bystanders and Motorists ?    The Police here remind me of the old Wild West as they don't care where their bullets land either !

Will give it a go.

Our village road is so quiet, the only thing the neighbours hear when it comes to excitement, is when my wife howling.

Honda City, not Honda Civic. Just saying....

Maybe the guy in the yellow shirt should ask his friends to sponsor a holster for him, before he accidentally kills somebody.

Why were so many Pattaya police awake at that time of night?

Moving to South Chicago.   Safer.

And that would be the first place the police look... looking for the sunset..
