BANGKOK, 16 September 2019 (NNT) - Prime Minister/Defense Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, has presided over the opening ceremony of a seminar for government personnel on the implementation of national strategies and the steering of government for the people. The prime minister admitted the Thai bureaucratic circle remains stuck in coordination to which all parties concerned are yet to find solutions.

During the opening ceremony of the seminar, Gen Prayut said police, military and other government agencies at all levels and all positions need to work together, and admitted the Thai bureaucratic circle still have a problem with coordination. Such problems need to be addressed systematically. The prime minister compared himself to a conductor in charge of controlling and administation, thus needing to learn and undergo orientation courses in order to understand the integrated functions.

The prime minister said he was worried when he visited areas where government agencies called for the allocation of budgets or an increase in government personnel’s salary. The government hasn’t had enough budget to cover the sought-after expenditure while the bureaucratic circle still had problems. He commented that he tried to view himself as a member of the public to see what the people wanted and that it is time the country was changed, otherwise conflict would always be unsolved.

Government officials who passed orientation programs of the Civil Service Commission proposed suggestions, methods and formats for the steering of government projects. These included groups of government officials who passed the New Wave development and national strategic programs. The presidents of all 76 provincial administrative organizations, mayors of 30 city municipalities and a representative of each of the other municipality mayors attended the seminar.

Adding we wasted it all on useless personnel carriers and submarines.

This is good news!

So after attending the seminar civil servants will now be able to readily solve such problems as Bangkok traffic, smoke and smog in Chiang Mai, the road toll, water storage and irrigation, corruption, etc. etc.

Yup, sure.

They'll have learnt how to threaten the media effectively when something negative about their 'solved problem' is printed, particularly how to threaten female journalists with 'a punch in the mouth.'
