While the military continues to purchase unnecessary hardware just for show.

Someone should tell Prayut charity starts at home.

How about the Army doesn't purchase a bunch of useless vehicles?

How about the guy who erected to golden ***** on the bank of the Chaophraya and named them "Icon", uses his money for something really iconic!?

Don't these morons have emergency civil defense plans and a disaster relief budget? Clearly Prayut and his associates are unfit to govern. Safety and disaster recovery are fundamental activities of good government. It's a wonder they don't invite international agencies, like Red Cross and the Red Crescent to provide emergency relief.

When are Thais going to learn that this government does give a rat's about them. Toon has to run to get money for the government hospitals  and this actor Bin has been out there helping and also raising money for flood victims for the last 2-3 days.

Now, to solely save face, Napoleon has decided to have a TV show [he won't get his feet wet, for sure] to have money sent to his Relief Fund while the government fiddles.

Might as well start taking donations for the next unforeseeable calamity.

The first people he should go after for money are the supporters of the Phalang Pracharat Party. Like the ones who raised 650 million baht at their pigfest to buy votes to get Prayut elected as PM.

Start with the people in the photo, especially the Finance Minister seated in the middle.

Why doesn't he donate some of his billions to the cause?

For FY 2020 Bt431 billion was reserved for "unexpected spending" in the future such as emergency and debt management.  The government set the central budget contingency fund at Bt518 billion.

The budget under the direct purview of PM Prayut is Bt100 billion.

https://www.nationthailand.com/news/30375803

With the Defense Ministry getting Bt233 billion for FY 2020, its total public funding since the 2014 military coup (through FY 2019 it was Bt949 billion - http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/politics/30347160 ) exceeds Bt1.1 trillion!

But Prayut wants the public to make donations for flood victims?

10,000 baht for a piece of paper with your signature on which it

is written that the person presenting this document is exempt

from paying any fees for one year for tourist visas, non O etc.
in embassies, consulates and immigration offices.

And at the border an immigration officer is obliged
to stamp this person's passport with a smile and a wai .

I know ,I know ...too stingy and selfish to do that !

Amazing! We can buy submarines and war ships, but can't spare a few Baht to help our drowning countrymen! It was just in the last couple weeks I read about how the government was scrambling to spend the surplus millions leftover in this year's budget that they didn't use!

Just dip into your Chinese Slush Fund account.

How about NOT wasting hundreds of millions of baht on unnecessary military equipment, and spending it on water management. Far more beneficial to the people of Thailand.

I'll donate if he resigns on live tv. I assume many others would also.

Common Khun Khaki, do it for the good of the country

So he's 'begging' the Thai people to help him out with donations?

Yet the post following this one headlines, "PM embarrassed by so many people asking him for hand-outs?
