Here we have someone absolutely refusing income as support for a retirement extension, and Samui asks for medical certificates I believe.

But to emphasise, this is proof of income from Thai bank statements/passbooks.

Those still able to get Embassy Income letters as proof of income are not encountering these problems.

There are a number of conclusions you can draw from that fact!

The OP does not seem to confirm that. Have you seen reports of retirement Extensions based in income being issued in Ubon, with an Embassy letter? The IO boss sounded very specific in needing a bank letter showing 800,000 baht. (based on hearsay).

If you are commenting more generally than just Ubon, yes emphasis correct.

I just got back from immigration at Sirinthorn, Ubon Province. I asked about this and was told that they do accept the monthly deposit. He could not answer for what went on at the Ubon office.

Can you do the extension at Sirinthorn if you are living in Ubon City?
