webfact
Dugong Mariam statue installed on Krabi beach KRABI (NNT) - Many people may still miss the adorable baby dugong Mariam, who died from ingesting plastic waste. Her statue has today been installed on Nopharat Thara Beach in Krabi as a reminder story. Members of staff have installed the statue at Ao Nang Landmark project on Nopharat Thara Beach in Krabi, serving as a reminder of her death, which sparked public awareness of marine resource conservation. The death of the beloved dugong has initiated the project “Love Mariam, Stop Littering in Sea,” discouraging the use of plastic bags and littering the sea by villages and tourists. Mariam was an orphan found deserted by her mother. She was taken care of at Khao Batu from 29 April 2019. The dugong died in August, with the autopsy revealing her death was caused by shock, and several pieces of plastic blocking her intestine. -- © Copyright NNT 2019-09-23 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info

I think the idea is very sweet and a talking point to guide people. Of course the damaged Thai haters and Thai Bashers who hail from paradise will criticize anything and everything in Thailand. It really is a borderline mental sickness to be so obsessivly hate filled.
