Plex

Anyone use this service?  Plex allows you to show things, such as videos, on your TV.

It's basically a kind of media center/streaming software that you can install on your PC and then use it as a server to play your stored AV content via all variety of different devices.

Yeah, it archives your files and shows them on an other device/tv.

Very good service, really hard to get used to it at first, its definitely not intuitive for many things and theres often <deleted> ups and new interfaces.. But at some point you get used to it and it becomes the best free service.

Plex or Emby.

Great options.

Further, for the OP, as I said above, it's basically media management software that's installed on your PC that then serves as a media server. It takes a fair bit of technical setting up. But once you succeed in doing that....

Then, you can install the various flavors of the Plex apps on your other devices like mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs, streaming devices, etc etc... And those apps can then play your audio or video media by connecting via wifi to your Plex server on your PC and its connection to wherever your media files are stored on your hard disk and such.

Prefer Kodi myself, but on some of our Samsung Smart TVs only option is Plex so we use both.
