U.S. military technology could end up in the hands of the Chinese through Thailand Proxy purchase.

As Thailand cozies up to China, the United States makes a huge mistake in their arms sales to Thailand. I would not doubt that these are proxy purchases where the technology could then be transferred to Chinese defense firms for reverse engineering. WASHINGTON — The U.S. State Department on Tuesday cleared a pair of potential arms sales, one each to Thailand and Qatar.

The two sales have a combined price tag of $486 million, according to the announcements posted on the website of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. DSCA notifications are not final sales; if allowed by Congress, the sales enter negotiations during which quantities and dollar figures can shift.

Ist thing I thought when it was announced a weapons deal with the US...China will be glad to help the Thais with these advanced weapons systems...same thing going on in Cambodia...US will not be a major player in this area of the world a few decades from now...

all of this is taken into consideration from the moment these helicopters were developed until they were approved for export.   these are the dumbed down and approved for export weapon systems US defense contractors sell all over the world.
