Nongprue opens CCTV Control Center

PATTAYA:--Nongprue Municipality has installed 75 CCTVs in 32 spots so far this year, and plans are afoot to install 60 more in 29 different areas using a 10 million baht budget.

The official opening for the CCTV Control Center in the Nongprue Municipality Building was held Sept. 11, presided over by Banglamung District Chief Amnart Charoensri and Mayor Mai Chaiyanit.

Officials deemed the cameras necessary because the area is rapidly growing as a bedroom community for city workers, and as such, many apartments and housing estates are popping up. ince Nongprue’s police department is not large enough at the moment, the cameras are needed to help deter and solve crime, monitor traffic and instill confidence in the area’s new and existing residents.

there a brand new set of traffic spy cams at the intersection of ThongKlom 9 and Padtanakan 6. Where the bleep is that? Darkside and a well used intersection, for those that live out here. If it's a redlight camera, well there are no lights of any color, no lights and stop sign. Just a good location to judge the Special Olympics of driving. Maybe the Nongprue Director of Regional Intelligence will get to review and score the best of the best... nuk nuk nuk

Fitting two outside the two police stations on Sukhumvit in the Pattaya area would pay for themselves many times over & may just reduce the road kill figures which are the 2nd worst in Thailand.  (Real policemen from inside are participating in roadside banditry outside the Ambassador Hotel.

It does seem to be a direction we are heading into, border 'police' are doing similar as well as domestic immigration offices.
