Chinese Passport - US Green Card

Featured Replies

I am US citizen and my girlfriend is chinese.   She has a chinese passport and a US Green Card.   From what I can find she can get a 15 day visa on arrival - we will do the e-visa ahead of time for her.  Is there any way to get it extended longer?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

She can't extend the 15 days.

She could get a Single Entry Tourist Visa before travelling that would give her 60 days on entry.

With the green card, there should be no problem applying by post for a single entry tourist visa. Even a multiple entry tourist visa might well be possible with all the required supporting documents.

Would the visa be issued from America or China? One document is American and one is Chinese. I would guess Chinese. But then why would the green card help her?

The green card would allow to her apply for it in the US using her Chinese passport.

Holding a Chinese passport would allow her to apply in China.

Chinese can only apply for visas in China or a country where they have legal residence (US green card in her case).

Ok 2nd question  - The Visa on Arrival -  if you search there are all these sites with E-Visa - all with different cost.   Is this real?

There seems like there should be some sort of guidance on this.

There is only one official site and it is this one. https://www.evisathailand.com/en/

There should be no fee other than service charge. Visas on arrival are free until next April.

It does make sense.
