Hi!

 

I was supposed to renew my visa last week but due to complications with a certain document, I have to renew on the day it expires which is the 30th of September (today). Now the problem is my work permit. It expires on the same day as well. Are there going to be issues if I renew it on 1st or 2nd day of October? The people who are supposed to assist me are on a out of town seminar and will be back later on the evening of the 30th. Am I going to be in trouble?

Most offices would do the extension of stay (it is not a visa) a few days late but you will pay a fine of 500 baht for every day you are late.

I see. I am at the immigration right now waiting for my turn for my one year extension stay renewal and I don't think I can do my work permit on the same day coz like I said, the people who are supposed to assist are not here and they have the paperwork for my work permit. When I renew my work permit a day or two late, I will have to pay an overstay fee then?

Only if they do not do the extension today.

Hi ubonjoe. I was able to get the extension of stay renewal at the immigration. However, for my work permit, there's some issues with the paperwork and couldn't renew it on the same day. What will be the scenario at labour if we renew it tomorrow (October 3rd)?

The may depend upon the office where it is applied for. It may require applying for a new work permit instead of extending it.
