Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday (September 30) officially opened the MRT Blue Line extension from Hua Lamphong to Bang Khae.

Passengers will have to start paying fares now that the free trial, which started on July 29, has been completed.

Managing director, Sombat Kitjalaksana, the trial run from Tao Poon to Tha Phra stations has entered the equipment and system test process. This line is expected to start going into full operation by the first quarter of 2020.

Is there anything in Thailand that General Prayut doesn't officially open? Or is it only those occasions with photo ops and media hoopla. He has no peer when it comes to political grandstanding.
