I assume you are talking modern Vespa ie. 4-stroke. If there is a dealer near you they have parts or can easily get. Not as cheap as Honda parts but then again neither is the scooter.

Older 2 -stroke Vespa. yes lots of parts but from shops specializing in old Vespas of which there are quite a few in Bangkok. A lot depends on your location. have a look around and see how many there are on the street and that will give you an idea. Caution: There are some bodge job Vespa's floating around.

Very good backup from Vespa,

Do you mean for the new 4 stroke Vespa's  I would imagine parts for the old 2 strokes are getting hard to find..but maybe there are companies making pattern parts ?

Scomadi predates the "new" Lambretta by some years.

Then there is Royal Alloy. Which maybe better as it is all metal I believe.

Which is definitely a clone of Scomadi.

Two-stroke I'd go Lambretta, 4-stroke I'd go Vespa.

Not in Bangkok. Old 2T Vespas everywhere. Lots more in Indonesia where they used to manufacture them.

Vespa don't make 2-strokes anymore.   Last one was 2005   Model ET2   50cc

  Bad for the enviroment

I saw a brand new PX125 2 stroke Vespa at the Vespa dealership in Udorn Thani about 2 years ago.

Vespa still shows it as available on their Thailand website.  209000฿.

I stand corrected.   Must be old stock...   Last chance to buy a classic.  Pricey at 209k for old tech 125cc.  6.5 BHP

Similar price gets you a 300GTS    22 BHP

I will call into the Vespa shop Pattaya and see if they are still available.

When i had my bike serviced they gave me a Vespa to use for the day. A few years old, 20k on the odometer, i rode it for about 60km.

The Vespa felt like total <deleted>. Had 125cc, felt more like 100cc. The forks bottomed out even on small obstacles. Everything in the cockpit, like buttons, switches etc. felt as if they used the cheapest parts they could buy.

After this experience i can just recommend to stay away from Vespa, overpriced piece of junk.

Can't understand why anyone would pay top money for these scooters when there are so many great scooters on sale here for half the price. You are just paying for the name and "reputation" of 50 years ago.

if you like plastic you buy japanese scooter

Yes some don't care, they just want one.

I see quite a few of them in Pattaya, mostly Thais doing a fashion statement and maybe status: look I can afford a Vespa sort of thing??

My wife wanted one badly at some stage but I talked her out of it. She now have a Yamaha Grand Filano Hybrid with ABS on the front wheel. Nice little scout but way too small for me, I looks like an elephant on it, 555.

Which is why I bought an LXV150.

Switch gear is mounted in aluminium enclosures not in or behind a plastic panel.
