A fake KFC website in Thailand has been discovered asking for personal information in order to receive free dishes in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the chicken chain.

People were told to list and send their private information through a Line message.

A post to the official Facebook page of KFC Thailand on October 1 stated that the chain was not behind the fake 15th-anniversary celebration, noting that it was established 30 years ago in Thailand.

The post said the fast-food giant would never ask for the personal information of customers except when they place an order via the official website, www.kfc.co.th.

It warned customers not to participate in any kind of activity involving a suspicious website, and to make sure they do not share the links of suspicious websites so as to avoid any misunderstanding on the part of the receiver.
