It will only take a few more whistleblowers to come forward and then many GOP senators will suddenly discover that they have a backbone after all.

More will come forward but I'm not as optimistic as you YET about the republican senators having any backbone. But it COULD happen.

What does the law say. The law that trump is breaking.

Impeachment doesn't require any specific laws to be broken. Abuse of presidential power for example isn't a specific law. If 45 runs in 2020 and loses THEN he will be subject to prosecution under specific laws. Impeachment is the only recourse while a president is in office.

Good point, I don't like Trump or Biden, maybe we can rid the U.S. of both in one investigation!

The offense is asking a foreign government for help discrediting his political opponent.

Ukraine's reaction is irrelevant.

And if they don't provide the help the promised support will not be forthcoming.

I have read the transcript and your assertions are false...not looking for dirt, not asking for help to discredit. Looking to get to the bottom of what happened. The conclusion has not been predetermined or rigged. For an accusation to have legal basis, words are very important. You cant interpret them any way you want.  Thats called fantasising.

The transcript is deemed top secret. You mean you have read the redacted recollection of the phone call.

Trump has repeatedly called both Bidens crooks. So what are the Ukrainians to make of that? That if they give a report that says the Bidens are innocent of criminal wrongdoing, Trump will magnanimously accept their conclusion and manfully apologize for his false accusations? That he will hold no grudge against the Ukrainians for their findings? After all, in the past he has cheerfully and openly acknowledged his errors and unhesitatingly apologized to those he has wronged. Why would we expect a different performance in regard to the Ukrainians?

Or is it that as you wrote "Ukraine had better play nice." Abd by playing nice, placating Trump by giving him the conclusions that he wants?

No one has apologised to Trump for falsely accusing him of conspiring with Russia to win an election.

The Biden case is not open and shut....there appears to be some serious impropriety and horse trading going on when a Veep's useless son is appointed to a 50K a month job in a country that is beholden to US generosity. Seems like a quid pro quo right there.

Grounds to investigate enthusiastically.

Grounds to give Trump what he wants given that he's already concluded that the Bidens are guilty.

My guess is that, as they don't know who will be the next president, the investigation will last long time....

Most notable - not ONE White House representative went on ANY Sunday talk shows defending Trump's actions because he is no longer defensible. Even Republicans are starting to smell the coffee.

More like the smell of a backed-up toilet.

What, no Rudy on the Sunday shows?  How disappointing!  Usually on Sundays they let the asylum inmates get taken out for the day by their relatives.

Here's hoping the tax returns will be out soon: forget smoking gun, try smoking howitzer!

Another off topic post about Trump's tax returns has been removed as well as a reply.

The more I think about it, the more I realise that the Don's intention probably was never to get Ukraine to investigate Biden. He knows Ukrainians would be fearful to investigate

Democrat corruption because the aid they receive is dependent on bipartisan support.  They only helped Dems dig dirt on Trump in 2016 because they thought he had no chance, and Dems were better for their interests.

I think the plan all along was not to have Biden investigated but to create a big stink around him that would follow him wherever he goes. And it's going to dog Joe every time he steps on stage.  Seems to be working gangbusters.

Funny. I just saw a hypotherical poll pitting Trump against Biden in Wisconsin. Biden wins by 9, the best of any democratic candidate. The thing is, the stink is coming from Trump. So, maybe, apart from hardcore Trump supporters like yourself, his accusations might not count for much? Might even work in Biden's favor.

But what is interesting to note is that you seem to accept the notion that Trump's motivation actually to gain electoral advantage and not to instigate an investigation into alleged wrongdoing. On that score, both you and I agree. It makes me feel warm and toasty to finally find myself in agreement with you about something.

Yes, and he probably won't ask anyone to investigate this either:

Jared Kushner nearly put his family into bankruptcy by overpaying way too much for a property located at 666 Fifth Avenue. But miracle of miracles, a fund partially backed by Qataris gave him a sweetheart deal that bailed him and his family out.

As for Ivanka her business was hardly a rip-roaring success. Although she did help her father in misreprenting that status of the condos people were considering purchasing. And she did get extremely rapid approval for her trademarks from the Chinese government.

The fact is both these kids demonstrated the same kind of business genius that Trump did: getting born to a wealthy father. And Jared emulated him in incompetently overpaying for a property.

That's right, he was saved by Brookfields Asset Management. However, the most interesting part of the story is the following:
https://www.ft.com/content/90d98374-3528-11e9-bb0c-42459962a812

"According to The New York Times, Mr Kushner has spearheaded efforts to avoid US safeguards to permit the building of civil nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia. A key part of the nuclear consortium was Westinghouse, which is owned by Brookfield and its partners. In the cold war, US nuclear diplomacy was called “atoms for peace”. In this case it looks more like “atoms for bailout”.

Do what?

Im surprised a bunch of guys who have all the time in the wold to read and distribute anti trump literature haven't figured out one simple thing.

If you're going to level charges, they need to be simple and require a bi-partisan buy-in. People don't have time for complex, biased, politically motivated theories like the ones

floated in Mueller Report. It's a TLDR world.

Kushner, Trump kids etc have been doing big  $$$$$  business all over the world way before the Don ascended the throne. You can publish any deal of theirs and start poking holes in it....the question is... CAN YOU PROVE IT'S ILLEGAL AND A CRIME WAS COMMITTED?

That remains to be seen....nothing has been debunked or disproved yet....the MSM refuses to report and does not seem to have an appetite for anything that isn't anti trump at the moment.
