Pattaya: Writing scrawled on bus shelter tax posters "damages image of resort"

Sophon Cable TV said that writing found scribbled on bus shelter posters on Sukhumvit road damaged the image of the resort of Pattaya.

Lots of writing was scrawled over City Hall posters reminding people to pay several different kinds of tax.

Sophon didn't say what the messages were about.

They just said it was disgraceful and bad for Pattaya especially as the bus stop was in a very public place and was near a school as well as Christian and Islamic religious centers.

They also said that traders in the area should act as the eyes and ears of the authorities to catch those responsible for the graffiti.

That mere text can damage the image of Pattaya is beyond belief

At least state something more realistic like "alters the laws of physics"

Just imagine if the resort had prostitutes and thieving ladyboys!

Or sewage seeping into the sea ,piles of rubbish all over, pot holed roads, floods  and rabid soi dogs roaming around ????

My wife says the posters are a reminder to pay your tax - probably just the people tired of getting nothing for something

Hanging wires, construction diggings without safety barricades, corrupt officials, taxis not using meters, thugs extorting money at checkpoints, buses going down streets not intended for such vehicles, garbage, pollution, blarring advert trucks, scooters driving the wrong way, and on and on. Bus shelters are the end of the world? Oh dear.

I am always surprised what idiotic kind of things should damage the reputation of Pattaya as a Resort!

There is soooo much more things that really damage the reputation and that starts from the taxi mafiam to the robberies, scams, restless police not doing their duty and and and...sorry would have to fill hundres of pages to go on!

Yet our disgusting sandbag beach seems ok...

I can empathize with her opinion.

Oh defacing posters has damaged the image?

Nothing to do with the stinking foul beaches, waste thrown everywhere, raw sewage , stinking drains

In fact some creative graffiti could enhance  the image

Bring that scouser back he did a proper job

A bit like the oldie "Bill Stickers will be prosecuted", the response being "leave Bill Stickers alone".

Is that writing in Thai?  So, maybe some Thai's are gonna not visit Pattaya.

I'd say some of those crappy cable 'news' shows do a pretty good job of that....

These Morons don't seem to understand that the 'image' of Pattaya for a good number of years has been as a s**t hole and that any self respecting family wouldn't go anywhere near the dump !    When will they ever wake up and smell the Turds ?

wow... LMFAO!!!

And yet the end of Hwy 7 tails back for a few Kms every holiday weekend.

Maybe the criminal graffiti artist wrote on the poster Jet Meh khun.

If they used their senses and wrote the messages within an outline of a plastic bottle it would have been hard to prove fake news & spoil the image of Pattaya..

and what about ALL the flooding, poor pavements, fly tipping and other garbage the list could go on so I stop.

In Pattaya i feel like everybody is my friend, the taxi's and bahtbuses all horn to me like i'm their friend.
