Merlin
Hi all, I'm looking to put together a "kit" of standard programs on a USB drive that I can take with me when I go to family/friends/clients places, to cover the majority of problems I would be likely to come across on a typical unmaintained computer So far I've got: Avast Ccleaner Cwshredder Adaware Spybot AVG Zonealarm Firefox and Memtest86+ on a bootable CD any other suggestions/comments? cheers... sabajja
Nothing beats a well setup boot CD, as it can be booted on 99% of the systems out there, when you are locked out. Here's a good one: http://www.ubcd4win.com/ The CD above contains almost all the tools you'll ever need, and it has Antivir (which is great) Another great tool to add to the collection should be "Dial-A-Fix". The most usefull feature (among others), is it scans the registry automatically, for all those known regtweaks that malware uses to disable your windows, and removes them.
