Has the PEA website been hacked where you are?

Featured Replies

I use the PEA website to check my electricity meter readings but I've just received an odd message which is stating the website has been hacked.  I am in the UK currently so I'd be grateful if someone in Thailand can confirm they too are getting the same message please?      The website address is  http://www.pea.co.th

Accessed not ten minutes ago via the app and had no issues or warnings of any kind.

however, the website has "Hacked by #theloserteam - Greatz from lulzkid x #invisiblehand"

Whats not to understand ? the app is fine, the website is showing a "hacked" sign.

2 methods to access the PEA one is ok, the other is not.

The website has been hacked; the hackers have posted who they are.

Thanks for the confirmation. I don't use a phone app only browser access of the PEA website which means it is effectively closed for business until the PES IT security fix it (assuming they have got such a team) perhaps someone who speaks Thai can send them an email just to tell them their system has been compromised.  Ta!

Try the 4th Option on top row for meter reading (I presume though it's in Thai)

Thanks but I use a different method where you don't have to login but just enter your account details rather than username/password but the method I want to use is hacked so I'll have to give up until they eventually fix the problems.  Just hope the hackers don't change peoples meter readings  arrrgghhhh !!

Their website is showing as Server Unavailable. I think they have temporarily pulled their web server.

Seems sensible, just hope the hackers haven't done too much damage.

Heaven helps if hackers focus on arbitrary Thai websites.

That will be a massacre.

When the server is running again use this address for the English language version  https://pea.co.th/en/

but right now they've taken the server down to fix it presumably

this is exciting! just like in the movies.

are the hackers going to turn all the power off?

Well that might give the powers that be the kick they need to take cyber security seriously.  I'll definitely be double checking my electricity bill next month.

that is just defacement ^^ because they use some outdated php version, but from this exploit no data can be accessed

Memberarea is not english at all but it is not problem even if you do not read thai.

With chrome translator in memberarea you find your ways to navigate and when using regurlarly you do not need it any more to make "right clicks". I use this website to pay my Bills..

Nah, most want at least a modicum of a challenge  :coffee1:

It seems to be back up now, no "hacked" message.

I always use the app anyway, I wonder how long the main site had been compromised before anyone noticed.

Yes it is thanks just tried it again and managed to get to the page I wanted but they haven't entered my meter reading yet.

they hacked nothing, just some script kiddies who used some public exploit nothing special about that..

Your not the only one...Thank you...was beginning to think I was loosing it.

Mushy PEA???

If you have a Thai bank account and online banking you can pay your bill as long as you have your account number. Don't need to go to pea website. Your bank will display the outstanding amount. Just press pay! So easy...
