The body was identified through a DNA-test and dental records.

But whether or not the quarrel resulted in murder, we can not say at this moment of time".

Whether it really was an accident, or murder should now been brought to light by the medical examination.

I readed on another site that they found the body of Mrs. Schaefer in January.

And still to now they don't find out how she died? To carry out a death examination 9 months after finding the body, there is probably only in Thailand !!!

If the girlfriend tells the tale on him. He´s toast and long gone. No more using granny´s pay check for this dude.

Not saying it isn´t true, because all the trash seems to find it´s way to Thailand. We don´t need more!

Better just put this one in a coffin too, and send him one way over the Pacific Ocean.

And the equally trashy girlfriend will now have to find another ATM (alive or dead) to live off, too.

So he did not know she was dead but thought heck since she was not around I might as well just help myself to her pension money? And no need to report her missing? Never mind not keeping that bothersome old visa current...

But come on guys it took you 9 months? To move the case this far??

Yes, he was waiting on new shipment of Brown envelopes.

Bottom line?... It would appear she grassed him up out of the fear she could be the next one helping grass grow.   Some people actually have a conscience in spite of the benefits of greed . Glad to see the girlfriend thought this one through.

conscience after 9 months?

i suspect her motives were somewhat less altruistic.

The immigration should make an internet site where all people with long time overstay are listed with photos. Reward for reporting one to the immigration could be 5000 Baht. I guess the problem with overstayers would be solved pretty soon.

.....said the beggar. ????

What else you want to do. People knowingly not caring about visa regulations, work permits and so on simply don't care about laws. I don't feel pity for them if they are removed. Or do you want to protect such people? And if so why?

This the story about a 77 year old caucasion woman pimp in Pattaya. And guy that maybe kill her and throw her in a klong got take her money.

But you make the story for a “thaibash” about famous Thai mentality.

Good job sir.

And you say the wife of caucasion criminal always tell the police right? Or not? A lot of criminal, but the wife not know. Because caucasion mentality superior right?

no - mentality is not a negative or positive word.

Thai women are usually very loyal to their partners as long as he treats her well. I have seen many examples of Thai women turning a blind eye or even helping their criminal partners.

it is how it is, no Thai bashing here. I even think loyalty in a couple is a good thing.

regarding Western women, there are many cases of them doing the same, but it is less common. I guess many would just go away instead having a criminal partner - if they have a choice, of course.

Nope. I've seen the story on Thai news. He only said that the older woman fell in the bathroom.

There's a high possibility that she was killed, then they got rid of her body.

He, but also the Thai woman should receive a good amount of time behind bars to think about their wrongdoing.

No more Bratwurst and sauerkraut for the next 20 years.

Well,

the correct things seems to have happened first when the access to the pension stopped - i.e. progress of the investigation and the gf's statement ...

Moral to story: Never run a beer bar in Pattaya.  Though kudos to this lady doing it at 77 years old

And, never tell a Thai lady to keep a secret. It won't happen.

If it was truly an accident, she would have been Cremated within a few days.

Even if attacked in the shower, it could have been passed off as an accident,

either way, all evidence gone up in smoke.

Guess the Greed caused the Stupid action taken, in order to get the pension money.

So it seems the Bar was not making any Income ?

There is something not quite right, with Either choice in this Story.

It was the biometrics that got him in the end

How many centimeters did they have to shove that meter stick up his backside to get a confession?

Unless you do it yourself there are procedures required where foreigners are involved. You have to get the police to sign off on it.

Yeah.  Kind of odd though that the Thai Girlfriend confessed to what she knows.  Wonder how much and when.  Doesn't sound like she is likely to be prosecuted in any way.

Not sure that DNA testing will diagnose the cause of death.

The police didn't say that, they said that it would help to confirm the cause of her death; perhaps the German's DNA will be found on her?

I have never heard of DNA testing for diagnose the cause of death.  May be they can do that in Thailand a very special DNA testing invented by Thai forensic expert perhaps.

That's not what was said!

the results of DNA tests will help to confirm how Ms Schaefer died.

Is this a mistranslation? Since when are DNA tests used to determine cause of death?

May find traces of alleged perpetrator on her body

That happens when you don't know what DNA is.

Well if he was the one that dumped her in the canal, his DNA would be on the body,

and on the wrap around the body. Right...

Still would not prove cause of death, unless matched to a tool used for murder.

Have to wait and see the reason behind this move.
