Marriage Visa In Kuala Lumpur

Featured Replies

I am a US citizen and have been within Thailand for the last year and a half. My most recent visa was a tourist visa from Penang Malaysia. The visa before that was another tourist visa from Singapore. Before that I had several visa on arrivals. I have been married to a Thai national for approximately 3 months. I was told that I can bring the translations of my marriage certificates and documents to Kuala Lumpur and received a type O visa. I understand that this visa can then be converted into a marriage visa from within Thailand.

Will I have any problem in Malaysia getting this kind of visa? are any other documents recommended or required?

I was told that if you arrived early that this can be completed within that day and it would not be necessary to stay the night in Kuala Lumpur; is that correct?

Thank you for any recommendations or feedback.

Never the same day from KL.

You need your original wedding certificate, copies, her ta bien baan and id, signed by her and two pics from you.

You can still get a multiple entry at KL. Don't know for how long, though. Drop it off before 11:30 and pick it up the next day, not before 11:30.

Thanks again for the quick reply. I love this website. Do you think they will give me a problem about how long I have been in Thailand already? Just wanted to confirm that before I buy the plane tickets.

Thanks again...

I am looking for a super cheap place to stay near the Thailand Embassy in KL; wireless Internet would be a big bonus. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am looking forward to some roti already!

Mmmmmm, roti canai with te ais limau :D :D

I like the Crown Princess, 5 minute walk from the embassy, but its not cheap (RM300 per night), have a look at the Swiss Inn in Chinatown at half that price, but it's a PUTRA LRT ride from the embassy, RM80 will get you a room at the YMCA :o
