Driver escapes with just scratches as wipeout leaves car embedded in guardrail

PHUKET:-- A 24-year-old man has been charged with reckless driving causing damage to state property but is lucky to escape a serious wipeout with just scratches after his car took out a guardrail on the main road onto the island earlier this afternoon (Oct 31).

Body believed to be missing British woman, 21, found off Cambodia

PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - Cambodian authorities found a body floating near the Thai border on Thursday that is believed to be a 21-year-old British woman who went missing last week from a beach party in a coastal area popular with backpackers, police said.

PHUKET:-- The search for missing Maksim Shchartsou failed to locate the 31-year-old Belarus tourist, officials confirmed today (Oct 31), despite the Royal Thai Navy dispatching a helicopter and national park officials deploying search teams in dinghies to find the man.

Cooperatives celebrate national savings day, set to raise 50bn baht in savings

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Cooperative Movement has nominated 31st October of every year as National Savings Day, to encourage members of cooperatives to save more money. This year, the movement aims to raise another 50 billion baht in gross savings. The Minister of Finance has stressed the government is willing to support cooperatives’ operations to promote savings in local communities.
