Was at a friend's place last night at Bang Sue and about 9.00pm-ish there was a massive lightning strike and soon after there were two large flumes of smoke that continued. Can only estimate but it looked like the smoke was coming from and area near Makro Rama 5. Talking to friends this morning they said the two plumes of white smoke are still there.

 

A quick scan of Thai online news doesn't seem to have anything. Does anyone know more about this?

Maybe go ask some residents living near makro Rama 5. They'd have better info since they live in that area near the supposed lightning strike.

Maybe it was the immigration office?

Yep, you caught me out... I made the whole storm story up... It never rained on Sunday night.
