I plan on renting a car, and crossing the border and spending a night there. If i've not mistaken, you need to spend 24 hours there, correct? Do you also need to book a hotel or can you just go find one upon arrival? Also, what is the price for the visa that is valid for 60 days?

You do not get a extension at a border crossing. You get a new 60 day permit to stay when you re-enter the country using your visa.

What type of multi-entry visa have you got? Are you sure you need to go out to get your extension?

Sounds like METV but yes,  confirmation would be nice to help the OP.

Note that you will not be allowed to cross the border in a rental car, unless you are crossing with a driver who owns the car.

All the Cambodian border crossings are OK except Aran/Poipet.

You are correct that there is a Cambodian immigration rule that mandates an overnight stay. However, the requirement is routinely waived on payment of a 200-300 baht tip to the officials.

Op, what type of visa is it that allows 60 day extensions?

I thought all extensions were only 30 days?

If you have a ME then you would get another 60 days by crossing a border, but that would be a new entry, not an extension?

If he actually has a muti-entry visa, he's not looking to "obtain" a visa. He would just be getting a new permission to stay by re-entering Thailand using the visa he already has.

I am sure he was writing about getting a Cambodia visa on arrival.

Sorry, I meant to say for a stay of 2 months. I'm on a 6 month multi entry visa in pattaya.
