In most cases, they are law-abiding and contribute to the economy. So should governments allow them to stay and continue what they are doing? While some others follow the rules? I speak Thai well and understand the Thai mindset quite well having been married to a Thai for over 40 years. I enjoy the general Thai populace but I do not like the way some bureuacrats act towards foreigners. In addition- I do not like the way some foreigners act towards Thais. I could tell you a hundred stories about living in Thailand and things I have seen good and bad but I won't because at the end of the day it doesn't really matter and most people who have not been here long term wouldn't believe it.
