Pattaya - Changing the Coolant of a Computer

Beggar

Recommended Posts

A friend of mine in Pattaya needs a reliable person who changes the coolant of his computer. Does anyone know a reliable service shop that does something like this without killing the computer? I know that I can look in the Tukcom area but I have no idea who does a good job for a reasonable price.

Curios to know why he even wants to do that. Normally a hermetically sealed unit.

No - this is simply a liquid like in a car. It has nothing to do with an aircon. It is easy to change it yourself if you are a computer freak but he is not one of these people. The only danger is a leakage or spilling the liquid on electronic parts.

Who mentioned an air con?

Again I ask ...why does he feel the need to change it as it is a sealed system. Never heard of one leaking or fluid needing to be changed.

Please google PC and water cooling. Or use for example this link to understand what I am talking about. And also please show me an example of what you are talking about that I understand what you mean.

Parhaps we are talking at cross purposes. I understand the cooling system. I am merely asking why he feels the need to change the coolant.

Please make yourself familiar with this cooling technology. You should replace the liquid from time to time. And in respect of a sealed system read below the text from Thermaltake. It is pretty much like the cooling system of a car where you can change and add coolant at any time. There is nothing sealed at all.

Exceptional Liquid Tank :

1. High capacity liquid tank capable of holding 350c.c. of liquid for continuous usage

2. Easy to refill

It is a very simple task. But never underestimate Thai professionals ????

My problem was overestimating them.

When getting a Thai to undertake a task for you, it's usually helpful to assume that they have never done it before. I.e. a complete balls-up will ensue. But then the resulting mess and damage will be your fault, not theirs.

Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything.

Don't forget to add enough of that green color to make the computer faster. ????

Actually, if it's top quality coolant which keeps the CPU colder, you might be able to bump the speed up by 100-200MHz on that alone, so it's no joke. Just depends on whether you gut lucky in the silicon lottery and have a CPU which can run brutally fast without crashing non-stop.

The here recommended Pattaya2U didn't want to do it. They were worried to damage something. I am surprised because they really have a lot of experience. They sent my friend to J. I. B. and they will do it now. If it ends in a chaos I will report it here. But it is really a very simple task.

I myself use a big Cooler Master V8 for my CPU. Good enough for my purpose.

I had my last CPU running stable with 4.5GHz with a decent air cooler. On tests I got it up to 4.8GHz but that didn't work with all applications so I set it back to 4.5GHz.

Now I have a new PC with another K rated CPU (ready for overclocking) but I didn't bother to optimize it until now. Maybe it's time for the next generation game and some challenge. ????

Here is an interesting comparison of air and liquid cooling. But for sure there are endless others.

How many milliseconds in computing speed does this sort of cooling make, 'cos maybe I can see my porno movies a lot quicker.

If you are used to short time this might be really helpful. And the computer can play back even very hot pornos with such a cooling without damage.

My goodness - J. I. B. wants to have at least 6000 Baht including the liquid (from Germany) and also including cleaning. They went there and saw his big house and his expensive computer with tandem graphic card. Not sure if I should look for a cheaper option for him. I didn't expect it to be cheap when I heard J. I. B. What do you think? They also want to change the pipes if they can't get them clean anymore. And this would come on top of it.

Any professional who would do that job would obviously ask themselves: What could go wrong? For what will I be made responsible if it does not work 100%? And why should I do it at all if I don't make good money on that job?

I work with PCs for a living and if I had a possible customer who wants me to change the fluid in his liquid cooled PC I would also think about what kind of customer has that kind of PC and what do they expect from changing that fluid? It's like someone has this formula one car and he needs a one time technical job done to make it faster. Would you want to do it? ...
