webfact Posted November 15, 2019 Share Posted November 15, 2019 Cool weather and strong winds in upper Thailand, South sees less rain By THE NATION A strong high-pressure is covering upper Thailand bringing cool mornings and strong winds, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Friday (November 15). Isolated rain was likely over the North, the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East. A strengthening northeast monsoon across the Gulf and the South would bring more rain with heavy showers affecting the South. Moderate winds would whip the waves up to about 2 metres in the lower Gulf and above 2 metres during storms. Ships should proceed with caution. The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows: Northern region: Cool weather and strong wind with rain in some areas, temperature lows of 18-22 degrees and highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 8-12 degrees on hilltops. Northeastern region: Cool weather and strong wind, lows 18-21 degrees, highs 28-33 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 9-12 degrees on hilltops. Central region: Cool weather and strong wind with rain in some areas; lows 20-22 degrees, highs 31-33 degrees Celsius. Eastern region: Cool weather and strong wind with rain in some areas; lows 21-23 degrees, highs 32-34 degree Celsius; wave height 1-2 metre. Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thunder showers in 60 per cent of the area; lows of 22-24 degrees, high 30-33 degrees Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres, increasing to 2 metres during storms. Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thunder showers in 30 per cent of the area; lows 23-24 degrees, highs 32-34 degree Celsius; wave height 1-2 metre, increasing to 2 metres during storms.
