leanester Posted March 28, 2007 Share Posted March 28, 2007 Hello to all, I have a simple question to ask you...let's say I would think about getting citizenship and permanent residence in the future, so I want to know if that required 3 uninterrupted years with the same visa, means that I can't get out of the country in that 3 years, or if I have a re-entry permit I can do it anyway...thanks a lot. camerata Posted March 28, 2007 Share Posted March 28, 2007 The minimum requirement for PR is that you have spent 3 years in Thailand on a 1-year visa extension. If you're working, they'll expect you to have paid taxes for those 3 years. Going in and out of the country for short trips on a re-entry visa is no problem, but it might be a problem if you were spending several months overseas each year and not paying taxes. Maestro Posted March 28, 2007 Share Posted March 28, 2007 You will be on contiguous annual extensions and, with a re-entry permit, are free to travel, ie to leave and re-enter the country without losing your extension status.
