In junior high i was voted best athlete and came in second for best looking and most popular. Yes, as I've witnessed so many POTY, I can tell you that the key is to get out of the blocks sharpish, although one needs to pace oneself, as it is a bloody long haul, and going too far ahead has always ended in failure.
